I would have at least liked the author to have had researched, or at least use common sense. Now, there’s this thing authors sometimes do when retelling fairytales that I kind of despise. She cares for her people and is practical minded. Cameron Dokey is an American author living in Seattle, Washington. This one has to be the most romantic of the fairy tales oddly enough.
She does everything from archery to sheering sheep to embroidery. This was an absolutely charming heauty of Sleeping Beauty that should delight young adult readers and adults everywhere. Though, I really liked the flow of the story, and the unique perspective on the classic fairy tale. She must fight these spells, stay true to her heart and find her true love – after sleeping for years of course.

And did she have to kiss him while he was still old? Beauth shouldn’t care about this, but I really do. Gone is the fairy godmother she leaves right dokdy the beginning of the novel never to be heard from again. It wasn’t the worst story I’ve ever read, and I was enjoying it, but it certainly wasn’t the best.
There is a happy ending. Not one, but three. The pace picks up a bit as she enters a magical, forbidden forest and meets Ironheart, a young prince on a quest—to kiss a princess who has been sleeping for a hundred selep. This is a very well written re-telling of “Sleeping Beauty” with some very interesting twists and surprises that keep the reader wondering as well as some excellent characters that are not always as Not that she was a dislikeable character per say.
That’s another thing I couldn’t get on board with.

Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of people out there smooching their sisters and brothers and stuff like that, but in a “disney” princess kind of way? I just wonder what made her do it here.
The first one I read was Midnight Pearls which I didn’t like all that much and after reading Beauty Sleep cameroon decided that that was because it was written in third person. So, to protect her, Aurore’s loving parents forbid any task requiring a needle.

Aurora is spunky and courageous, and the story teaches lessons of doing the right thing no matter what, even when it’s really, beautyy difficult. What bothered me most was this one scene where the main character is caught in a hailstorm, where the hail stones are as big as fists.

I’ve read a lot of Dokey’s other retellings and it’s not usually her style. Aurore has a pretty happy childhood for the first sixteen years, being allowed to do as she pleases for the most part.
I’m not even sure where Sleeping Beauty and Oswald ever really fell vokey love.
So, it wasn’t Oswald her first fucking cousin, Oswald! It was bbeauty predictible from the very beginning it was quite clear that Aurore will be with Oswald from the ball scene And then she left and went into the spooky woods to stop the curse from tearing her kingdom apart. As in our main character is not an airhead who sings and has animal buddies and makes the perfect guy out of clothing actually someone with personality!
