The only reasons I’m mentioning it are that you can switch your familiar’s type to one other type as a minor action, allowing you to take advantage of for example both Chaos Shard and Smith’s Hammer, and the daily gives you a reliable Handbool. The only exception is the Warforged, who fall under the Construct category, which can be infused directly. Between Flight, Pixie Dust, and some very good Racial Utilities, they practically make up the lack of a secondary.
Another encounter save, with a Wis bonus on the roll pretty much makes this a must-have articicer Wis builds.
Artiificer think Wizard might make me feel less stupidly weak, and especially with Mark of Making, would let him be still themed as an inventor. Again, as long as you have a free arm, there is no reason at all not to use the biggest, baddest shield you can find. Some DMs do this when confronted with defenders, giving you the impression that he’s tanking everything he comes into contact with.
Other than those, you are an artificer. I really wish its playstyle fit mine better. The u6, Celerity Jelly on the other hand, is a great movement enabler with enemy only DT.
The Death burst is unfriendly, but this guy wants to be surrounded by enemies anyway. While half-elves do not have any racial bonuses to skills or abilities that benefit an Artificer, they do have the ability to manifest the Mark of Storm, and to be a member of House Lyrandar. To prevent that abuse, the higher ups put in this rule, meaning that the Wizard cannot scribe them over.
New to 4e – Feel useless as an Artificer
Pick your favorite striker, hurt an enemy and create some distance, and then be able to teleport next to that ally for the rest of the encounter. For example, an Artificer can make a Scroll of Fireball at 4th level, when a Wizard has to wait until 6th because of the caster level. Basically a no-brainer for Wis builds, but Con ones have to choose between this and whichever power they didn’t take at level 1.
While any race can potentially join the house, only humans can be blood members with the Mark of Making, and hence only humans can really reach the heights of the organization. That is, there aren’t as many big, controlling, damage dealing effects that, say, a wizard would have.
Obviously better for builds that can take Superior Will. Force, Imp vs Fort. Cold, Imp vs Fort.

The main differences between spells and infusions is that an infusion can ONLY be placed on an item or a construct. You cannot use Heavy armor without spending a feat, and you still suffer from Arcane Spell Failure when casting from arcane scrolls, which means you will most likely be in Light armor, or Mithral Medium armor. Refluffing is easy in 4E.

You can basically think of Infusions as a kind of temporary magic item. How about the fact that humans can apparently breed with anything on two legs or even four legs if you count dragons?
